Neighborhood Watch is one of the most effective and least costly ways to prevent crime and reduce fear. It forges bonds among area residents, helps reduce burglaries, entering autos, juvenile crimes, and also improves relations between police and the communities they serve
Goals of Neighborhood Watch
To organize safer neighborhoods and build a stronger sense of community for all of us to enjoy.
The main objective of Neighborhood Watch is to reduce the incidence of crime by:
Increasing citizens’ awareness of burglary and other neighborhood crime through a continuing information program.
Training citizens in the means of better property security and assist them in making their property more secure.
Developing a neighborhood action program where neighbors help watch each others property and report suspicious persons and activities to law enforcement agencies. (Neighborhood Watch)
Encouraging all citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in reporting crime.
